crochet dishclothI had heard that crocheting dishcloths are a good way to practice for a newbie crocheter.   This crochet dishcloth pattern was easy to work and only took a couple of hours.

What you need:

G (4.0mm) Crochet Hook
Yarn Needle
Scissors
1 Skein dk weight cotton yarn

What you need to know:

Half Double Crochet
Double Crochet
Chain

I used a 5 or an H hook on accident but it worked out nicely.   I used Peaches & Cream Yarn in Floral Bouquet that I picked up at Walmart.  I had bought it for another project but what they hey I had wanted to try to crochet a washcloth and knew I needed 100% cotton so I went ahead and used what I had on hand.  Below is the picture of the one I made.  The pattern gave directions on changing colors so I thought it would be fun to to buy two complimentary colors and crochet them up opposite so you have a nice set.  I will be sure to post when I do.

I don’t know if I have mentioned it before but I have ADD and I had it before it was cool cause I’m old and well back then they didn’t have a name for it until I was well into high school.  So what’s my point?  I think the internet and social media can really get me going in lots of directions.   Like if I didn’t have all this maybe I’d have some crochet pattern in a book but now at the click of a mouse all types of free crochet patterns and video tutorials.   And I want to do them all!!!

So… Today I’m on Facebook and I see a contest thing to win a set of crochet hooks.  Well you have to go to YouTube to enter.   Did that and then somehow ran across a video tutorial for Entrelac Crochet.  Needless to say I grabbed some yarn and a hook and off I went.  It’s easy and pretty fun to work.   Below is what I did today.  🙂  Ahh another project.  I need to know when to say no!

baymax free crochet patternI came across this crochet pattern for Baymax from the movie Big Hero 6.  My son loves that movie so I thought it would be a quick and easy project.  It didn’t take long at all to crochet Baymax.  I was informed from my son though that Baymax doesn’t have a heart on his chest.  OPPS!

This cute little guy is just about 3 inches tall.  I put a loop on the top of mine so my son could hang it in his truck.  Big kids love Baymax too.

Fun fact!  I didn’t have stuffing for Baymax so I make a small cut in one of their stuffed animals and told them it was a donor.  LOL  They said, “Mom you’re not right.”  Ahh but that’s why they love me.
